She was born in the small village of Rewari district in Haryana.

She unfurled the Indian tricolour and held it aloft on the roof of the world. It was a truly spiritual moment for her when she saw the Indian flag flying on the top of the world She also felt proud as an Indian.

She clearly says that she is a Russian; it’s true that U.S. is a big part of her life, but she has Russian citizenship and she will play the Olympics for Russia if they want her.
