If I Knew Poem
If I Knew
Here the poet says that if he knew the box where the smiles were Kept, he would try so hard to open it no matter how large the key was or strong the bolt. He, then, would throw the smiles over the land and sea. He also wished that the would scatter them in the playground so that children's face might hold them fast and keep them for many days.
Through us second stanza, the poet says that if he had a large box, he would hold all the angry or worried expressions of all the people from all the places like nursery, school, and street. After folding and holding, he would pack them in that large box. After doing so, he would lock the box and hire a giant to throw the box to the depths of the sea.
