1. Skyscraper - a very tall            building.
I want to build a skyscraper.
2. Blue Jay- North American bird with blue feathers.
I watched a short documentary on blue jay.
3.Yucky - extremely unpleasant The food was yucky.

B) Answer these questions with reference to the context.

 1. No longer could people say they felt blue or were green with envy or had a 'green' thumb.

a) why was this?

Ans- This was because they got habituated with the change of colour.

b)What were the two opposing thoughts that people had as a result?

Ans- The two opposing thoughts that people had as a result were that some people said that violet was now the most important colour in the world because it was everywhere and other said that violet had no importance at all because there was too much of it.

c) What does to 'feel blue' mean?

Ans - To feel blue means the people has the realisation of the importance of blue colour.

C). Answer these questions. 

1. What was the reaction of the people when they woke up and found that everything had turned violet?

Ans- People were shocked. They sat around looking at one another wondering if they were dreaming. Some were afraid and some were amazed.

2. Why was the colour of the blue Jay such a big issue? 

Ans - The colour of the blue jay was a big issue because it hadn't changed colour and stayed the brightest blue.

4. What happened to the blue jay when the world turned blue?

Ans- The blue jay was caught and put in a cage when the world turned blue.

5. How did the world regain its rainbow of colours?

Ans- The world regained its rainbow of colours when somebody let the bird out of his cage and he flew off looking happy to be free.

6. How did the people react to a world full of colour? 

Ans- At first, this was a novelty for people but soon they forgot that the world had once been all violet.
