The Adventure of Christmas Pudding

A. 1. The Christmas pudding was on fire. Poirot had to make a wish before the frames died out.

2. Mrs Rose made two large puddings and two smaller ones. The first large one she had kept for Christmas dinner and the other one for New Year’s Day.

4. Michael came looking for Poirot in the morning because he wanted to befool him by presenting a fake Christmas murder.

6. Poirot thought that it was Sarah who had come into his room at night because she had worn Sarah’s perfume to mislead him.

B. 1. a. Sarah says this to Monsieur Poirot.

        b. It is the bachelor’s button.

        c. The Heart of Fire/the priceless ruby was found.

2.    a. Mrs Ross is the speaker.

       b. The old custom that is being referred to here is that everyone in the house has to stir the pudding and make a wish.

      c. All the family members including  Master  Michael, Miss Bridget, Mr wel wyn, Miss Diana and Miss Lee Wortley participated in the old custom.

C.1. When Desmond brought coffee for him, Poirot thought that he wanted him to have a night of sound sleep.

  2. Poirot might be thinking that he was a genius when he said that there are many things that are unbelievable.

 4. Poirot persuades Bridget to play the part that she and Michael were planning so thathe could keep a close eye on the thief.

  5. Poirot  carefully put the priceless ruby into his pocket, and secondly he changed his cup of coffee for that of David welwyn.

  6. Rebecca is Desmond’s partner and Sarah, whom Desmond persuades, is the granddaughter of Lacey's family.

 8. He carefully slipped the priceless ruby from the pudding and kept into his pocket. He then  hid the it among the  glass decoration on the Christmas tree, and when the case was solved, he presented it to Mr Jesmond.
